This repeating sparrow & starling nest box trap (CADDS drawing) is a complete plan with the necessary details needed to construct one of the most effective sparrow and starling traps around.

This nest box trap is a time tested, no non-sense, maintenance free, and most effective trap for catching sparrows and starlings year-round. Especially during the spring when these birds are aggressively searching for nesting cavities. There may be a short duration in late summer when these birds are flocking with young birds that they may be harder to trap, but things usually pick up again in the fall when they are again looking for cavities not for nesting, but for roosting.

This plan gives you all the details and materials listing needed to build your own traps cheaply.

disclaimer:
Note that native birds may get trapped occassionally and it's the owner's responsibility to check the trap regularly to prevent any harm to these birds.

It's also a good idea to leave some food and water in the collection compartment for the trapped birds.
